To be a successful intern for any job you must have certain skills, if you don’t apply these skills you will not get the internship that you really want. Internships are very important to have; an internship can provide many possibilities such as potential jobs and future contacts. Internships are a great opportunity to gain hands on experience in the field that you want to pursue. An internship that I really want to do would involve soccer, five skills that you must have to be successful in a soccer internship is have great communication skills, work ethic,organizational skills,strong interest,ability to work independently.

Skill # 1
To be successful in any internship or any job you apply for, communication skills will always be needed. Having this skill is crucial because you must be able to communicate with others that you are working with, if you lack this skill then you won’t be getting things done and you will be behind on work that needs to get done. If you get hired as an intern and can’t communicate with others that are working with you, your boss will never hire you in the future for a job that you might apply for down the road. Communication is also crucial to make sure that everyone in the department understands what needs to be done.

Skill # 2
Another very important skill you need to be successful with this internship is your work ethic. Your work ethic is very important because no one wants to hire someone that is lazy and not working at the best of their ability. There are many applicants who could potentially get the job that you have, and if you are not working at the best of your ability then they will easily find someone else to replace you. Your work ethic is also very important because it shows the kind of person you are, if your work ethic is always high it will show that you care about what you’re doing and that you love what you’re doing, you have a better chance to land a job with that particular team.

Skill # 3
Another important skill you need for this internship is to make sure you are organized. Organization is crucial for any job or internship that you apply for. This skill is very important because if your boss throws a bunch of tasks for you to do in one day, you must be able to do all of them and while doing them you must make sure that you are being organized. If you are not organized this could cause you to not accomplish everything your boss has asked of you, and if you are not getting done what your boss tells you to do then that could lead you to getting fired from your internship or your job.

Skill # 4
Another skill that you will need is to have a strong interest in what you are doing. This skill is very important because you don’t want to show up every day and not like what you are doing. If you are going to work every day and not enjoying it you will be miserable at your internship everyday that you go in. Having a strong interest in what you are doing makes going to your internship so much more enjoyable, you will be in a situation where you are going to your internship and you’re looking forward to what you will be learning the next day. Having a strong interest in your internship will also make things much easier for you, you will have a better understanding how things work if you know about the sports versus someone who is applying and has no idea about the sport.

Skill # 5
The final skill that I will be talking about to be successful in your internship is the ability to work independently. This skill crucial for this internship because you are not always going to be working with others, you are going to be put in situations where you need to think on your own. If you are able to work well independently this is going to benefit you very much. For example if your boss tells you to do something and your depending on someone else to do it you will never get things done, and your boss will not be able to depend on you.

In conclusion, internships are very important to do if you want to land a job. Many jobs that people eventually get are because they successfully accomplished their internships. However to get an internship everyone needs to contribute certain skills. The internship that I wanted to do was soccer, if you follow these five simple skills you will be very successful in getting this internship.
