Women goalkeeps are terrible. They can’t jump. So easy to score from outside the box on them.

wow im surprised that alot of players in womens soccer can kick with both foot really well. unlike in men’s soccer where you have top players like fernando torres who just rely on one foot

I vote that Megan Rapinoe’s goal in the 45th minute in the first friendly with Canada in May this year is best goal for 2009! It was sick! She took one touch with outside of foot and curved it around 2 players and Karina LeBLANC right inside the post, assisted by HaO! But you can’t forget Abby’s 79th minute against Canada in July, that was great. I bet that gets the vote just because it was her 100th and it was a game winner

Where the heck is Wambach’s “flies in outta nowhere” header against England???

  18. redduey on Thu, 16th Dec 2010 1:45 am

The Wambach is a thing of beauty. The technical ability is a joy to watch. Chest the ball down with a defender on your back and then take the shot immediatly on the half volley – gorgeous!

though i agree that scrappy goals are amazing.. especially because they have to be fought for, BUT most come in from so close to the net that the goalie has little to no chance of saving it. that’s why i’m most impressed by those shots from outside the box that have to be perfectly positioned to go in- that really can be called beautiful goals.

    awesome

Abby’s goal is still the most fantastic thing I’ve ever seen. O’Reilly’s was absolutely amazing, but Abby! To take a ball over her shoulder onto her chest like that and nail it upper corner on a half-volley? IMPOSSIBLE, cannot WAIT until she’s up and running again. <3

lots of nice goals. Lilly’s 3 goals, Lloyd from the 2nd line and the last goal by Abby.
And O’Reilly’s shot isn’t the easiest to make.
    USWNT rules!

USA ROCKS! the Usa women are better than the men,GOLD all the way.

  24. almakarina13 on Thu, 16th Dec 2010 4:46 am

they did such a great job, i’m so proud of them!!

  25. luv4england on Thu, 16th Dec 2010 5:36 am

None of those goals were “the best”. The men’s league score goals like that all the time. Instead of power-kicks, you should’ve put on scrappy goals all players really had to fight for..

    >:(
