messi was no-way near the top 10 but iniesta is, whos the better player?
GamwKaiDernw on Sat, 13th Nov 2010 10:41 am
@Cds1707 ‘best goal’ is by definition an important one, or else you would see goals scored in minor leagues, friendy matches or even training. as for the strike i agree with you its not an every day long distance shot but you do see a lot of those per season. concluding the strike was mostly luck cause ronaldo has never scored a similar long distance goal (not talking about fks)

@GamwKaiDernw Ask ANY player in the world, past, present or future to hit a shot like Ronaldo done. No one will ever repeat such a clean strike as he did. 40 yards.. thats not your every day long distance shot as you’ve made it out to be.
And its best GOAL, not most important goal.

Goals by Essien, Ronaldo and Iniesta are of course top class, but Top 10 of the year? I think FIFA puts too much weight on the importance of the match. Grafite’s humiliating dribble/backheel or the flying backheel at near post (was it Argentinian league or sth? missed that) were way more marvelous. Long-range shots are neat but isn’t it a bit like when you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all?

grafitti goal >>>>>>>>> ALL

I’ve seen players do bicycle kicks, just-outside-the-box volleys and individual goals- that’s why I think Ronaldo’s is best. Or maybe even Mphela’s free kick. The amount of accuracy needed to place the ball properly with an amount of power enough to beat the keeper is almost impossible to obtain. I also admire Torres’ effort at the end because of its awkward angle. My pick is a choice between those three. The rest just aren’t “as” special to me.

mattie burrows for glentoran this year is good a back flick from edge of box

Iniesta’s goal is something that happens every week in any league. It doesn’t matter what the event is, we’re talking about the quality of the goal, not what the goal achieves in a game.
Corruption is how you obtain power, and corruption is how you maintain power.

Just listen to the commentators…the reaction to cristiano’s goal wasn’t a big deal. I hate that pussy!

look for Cristian Rodriguez’s goal against CD Nacional … it deserves to be here

@88sinduja ronaldo’s goal was a great strike, all im saying though is that essiens was better on all accounts:match importance, a great acrobatic shot with the keeper in full readiness and defenders marking him. ronaldo basicly had full balance, no defender close enough to him and the keeper was surprised. you dont need class to make strikes like those, you see crappy players like alex, belletti or zhirkov making shots like those.
ps seedorf is a great player, the goal was a massive gk error

@GamwKaiDernw You got it all wrong mate. Ronaldo’s goal was a phenomenal strike – just try hitting a shot like that from that distance, with that swerve. Some more, Ronaldo’s hit that in a high-pressure match where Man Utd had to win to progress and where he was playing a lone striker role – something he isn’t accustomed to.
The goal is class, few players in the world can do that. Look at Seedorf’s goal for RM (was it?) as well. Class again,
