If you run back to help defense you might want to replace your midfield… the forward that tends to run back is not the main striker… but if your out of position you wont be able to set your striker up… well i guess its situational…

thanks i like to out think my opponents during a game i.e read them like an open book
POTTLEDEE on Sat, 23rd Jan 2010 3:57 am
That’s good don’t find many forwards who help out at the back. Learning about defending will help you improve as a forward also, it will help you to read defenders better, if you can guess what they might do, you can figure out what you need to do to beat them.
addidaswilson on Sat, 23rd Jan 2010 4:07 am
oh ok thanks but i’m normally a forward except sometimes i run back to help the defence while the other forward stays in front. so i kind of need this
POTTLEDEE on Sat, 23rd Jan 2010 4:34 am
If possible yes, but the main thing is to always send them to the outside or away from goal, that way it makes it harder for a forward to put in a cross or a shot.
addidaswilson on Sat, 23rd Jan 2010 5:32 am
okay cool and also to keep them on their weaker foot /weaker side eg if their left footed keep me on my right foot
POTTLEDEE on Sat, 23rd Jan 2010 6:19 am
Don’t forget. When jockeying a attacker to always force him to the outside. & don’t stand straight on, you need to be at an angle, so it’s easier to turn if he does ya.
